Having been
used to files and phones for so many years, it was
wonderful to have people call me to say, “those earrings
you made sold and she would like a pair for her
sister”. Some critical health obstacles occurred and so
I had to stop and figure out how to make my life
healthier and happier. Sometimes the universe hits you
over the head to make you change things and I suppose
this is what happened to me. While getting my strength
back, I got to enjoy my daughter a bit more and spoil
her by adopting a wonderful ShitzuPoo named KuchiKoo. I
keep making changes and adapting to my life and give
thanks to God for giving me strength, stamina and
courage. I also took a sabbatical from working full
time for lawyers while starting to make and market my
jewelry. Because of various life events and losses, I
started to think that I should live my life in a way
that demonstrates to my daughter that she should not
wait until it is too late to go after her dreams. Of
course she is smarter than I am and so maybe she
wouldn’t do that. But just in case I needed to find a
way to show her.
Since I love
jewelry I also thought I should do products to
incorporate the dogs and cats that I love and while
marketing these I was introduced to a man who owns a
company that appears on QVC on a regular basis. They
took a license to several designs of my pet jewelry.
My experience designing the line for a licensee allowed
me to create stunning pieces giving my designs wider recognition.
I am
focusing on my passion while trying to create a company
that will grow and bring out the best in people and help
them spoil their pets. To me pets are royalty and so I
design those items in a more dramatic way. The jewelry
and collar is often all your pet will wear so I like
these items to be their own little fashion statement. I
also love children and have made bracelets and necklace
sets for them. I am concerned for children battling
illnesses and design special uplifting bracelets for
hospital gift shops whenever possible. These also are
used for children to put diabetic tags on. And what do
you think my favorite gift for birthday and Christmas
gifts to friends and family is? Well, it is jewelry of
course. I mix vintage Swarovski, with new
Swarovski, sterling silver and semi-precious gems
in a stylish manner that will compliment and add panache
to your everyday wardrobe. You don’t need to bust your
budget to have an up-to-date cuff bracelet or simple yet
elegant dangle earrings.
Although I
love designing for others I am starting Bead Bash
parties to celebrate birthdays, bridal showers, and
girls nights out so that others can unleash their own
creativity as well. I am also making simple, affordable
bead kits that will allow people to create colorful,
quick items that will keep their pets in mind as well.
The ups and downs of small business can be daunting so
for inspiration I watch Donny Deutsch and Oprah to be
inspired by them and their guests. I am in awe of what
so many people have accomplished and am beginning to
appreciate all that it takes to get things moving. It
seems difficult for most everyone to make a living these
days but I am glad to be living in America, a democratic
country where women and minorities can start a
business.
Speaking of America,
I am so proud of our country and our service men and
women in the Military but like many people feel that
there are a lot of changes to be made. Iraq, social
security, immigration, border patrol, employment, and
now with our American dollar reducing in value, our
economy. It seems like a scary time to me but the
bottom line is that I pray that each and every American
will register to vote and go to the polls in 2008. I
don’t want to witness what occurred in the election in
Florida. I don’t want to keep hearing about people
losing their homes and jobs. I would like to see a way
for the U.S. to get out of Iraq in a way that makes
sense.
Thank you
for reading about me and I look forward to serving you
and helping you spoil your pets. Who else can we spoil
that will always love us no matter what? Please feel
free to contact me!
Sincerely,
Bonnie
